Your 2025 Psychic Predictions Were Wild But Completely Wrong

Each year, as a test of psychic ability, we ask Higgypop readers to share their predictions for the year ahead. The results are always a curious mix of optimism, doom and confusion. Now that 2025 is nearly over, it’s time to see how our would-be clairvoyants got on. Spoiler: not one of them saw this result coming.

Some predictions were deeply personal. Shanika had a clear vision for her own future – one filled with mansions, cars, billions of dollars, good health and a loving family. She also foresaw herself travelling the world and living a life of abundance. It was a hopeful list, but unfortunately, we don’t know how her year worked out.

Others took a more general view. A contributor calling themselves TheWhisperer offered up a list of global predictions that wouldn’t have looked out of place in any given year: a pop star scandal, world tensions, the threat to democracy, and a famous leader’s death. There were even a few vague cultural forecasts, including the rise of a new artist and a money-themed hit song. All of these things could probably describe almost any other year, but none of them were specific enough to count as an actual hit.

Leilani’s predictions came with an apocalyptic edge. She warned of a war that would devastate economies, spiritual awakening across the masses, and even aliens revealing their true identities to help humanity heal. Sadly for those waiting on intergalactic medical assistance, none of this materialised. Humanity remains on its own for now, and the universal Father has yet to make a scheduled appearance.

Sai Grafio had a different approach, predicting the rise of a new science called „neuronistics,” massive mineral discoveries in Australia, and the sudden appearance of new land in the North Atlantic. It’s true that artificial intelligence has continued to grow rapidly, but there’s no sign that „neuronistics” has made it into any scientific journal. The North Atlantic also remains stubbornly unchanged – no new islands, no Atlantis, and certainly no proof of rising landmasses.

And then there was Pimpfucius who provided an exhaustive list of prophecies covering everything from earthquakes and financial collapse to celebrity deaths and political turmoil. According to his vision, 2025 should have brought a truckers’ strike, another pandemic, and multiple famous people meeting grim fates – including Will Smith, Kevin Hart, and Nancy Pelosi. Thankfully, everyone on that list is still very much alive, and none of the predicted disasters came to pass.

We also received a lot of prediction about Trump, wars with Canada, nuclear weapons on the open market and national parks turned into toxic waste dumps.

Every December, these predictions remind us of something important. Most people don’t predict the future so much as project their fears, hopes and frustrations onto it. For some, that means personal success and health. For others, global catastrophe. Either way, when the year finally arrives, reality has a habit of being far more ordinary than the visions suggest.

So, once again, our grand psychic experiment ends with a clean sweep of misses. But there’s always next year. If you think you can beat these results – and let’s face it, the bar is low – send us your predictions for 2026, and we’ll check back to see if anyone finally gets one right.
